Media Room & Inquiries

Due to the high volume of filming and photography requests for websites, online media outlets, social media pages, television, radio and print materials - all media outlets and businesses are required to obtain permission to use, print, produce and display any/all photographs and video of the Kemah Boardwalk.  All details below.

Filming

Location filming and photography requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. We may require fees in order to film, depending on the specific needs of each project. Authorization to film on our property is required. Permission must be obtained through the Marketing Department at the corporate office or through DPW Public Relations. 


Filming for marketing and/or commercial purposes:


Please provide a brief description of what you plan to film. (provide specific shots/content)

  • Project description. Provide outline, script, storyboard if applicable.
  • What date/time are you looking to film? Provide options.
  • How many days/hours will the filming take?
  • Will there be any interruption of business?
  • Number in your crew, include directors, producers, actors, extras, etc.
  • When and where would this air/be broadcast?
  • Do you wish to interview an employee/staff member?
  • Film equipment being used. 
  • Do you plan to use a drone?
  • Number of vehicles.
  • Is electricity hook up needed? Specifics
  • Do you have a budget for a location fee?
  • Would you include location signage in your filming?
  • Would your team be able to sign a location release?
  • Can you provide a COI (Certificate of Insurance)? 


Before filming - date, time and details must be approved. A Certificate of Insurance must be provided prior to arrival. Required agreement forms will be emailed for all signatures.


We require 2 weeks notice minimum (prior to requested time of filming). Must provide onsite contact information including name and phone number. Filming must not interfere with Boardwalk operations or involve guest interaction.


You will be removed from the property immediately if you are filming without permission and/or you have not submitted all appropriate signed documents. If film or video is posts online without consent, removal will be requested or legal action will be taken.


Boardwalk restaurants are separate from Kemah Boardwalk common areas. You must request permission for each individual restaurant/store prior to filming.

Drones

Drone filming requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. We may require fees in order to film, depending on the specific needs of each project. Authorization to film on our property is required. Permission must be obtained through the Marketing Department at the corporate office or through DPW Public Relations.

  • Project description/purpose.
  • What date/time are you looking to film? Provide options.
  • When and where would footage be shown?
  • Do you have a budget for a location fee?
  • Would you include location signage in your filming?
  • Would your team be able to sign a location release?
  • What is your flight plan?
  • What type of drone are you using?
  • Provide flight hours and experience
  • FAA License required
  • Insurance must be provided.


Before filming - date, time and details must be approved. A Certificate of Insurance must be provided prior to arrival. Required agreement forms will be emailed for all signatures.

  • Drone has to be within viewing distance at all times unaided by any other device.
  • Must follow FAA requirements regarding air space.
  • Flight plan reported to Flight Service
  • Location must be informed of your Flight plan for filming/photography.
  • Bring pilot airman certificate with a small UAS rating or supervised by someone who has certificate.
  • Copy of drone insurance information where applicable
  • You must check in with our Property Manager upon arrival


We do not allow flying drones over our guests.

Visiting Media

We are happy to have media visit the Kemah Boardwalk. Please email your request from your official working email or on station/outlet letterhead to Landrys@DPWPR.com. All media outlets are required to receive permission to film on our property.


Please include the following information:

Name, job title, e-mail address, phone number, news outlet, preferred dates of visitation, if tickets are needed, and story requirements.


Please allow us three business days to review and complete authorization.

Photography

Location photography requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. A photography/consultant agreement must be signed and approved to take photographs at the Kemah Boardwalk. Taking photographs of the property for marketing, advertising, distribution, sale, licensing, promotion and exhibition is not allowed without permission.


Authorization is required and the date, time and location must be approved.  You will be removed from the property immediately if taking photographs without permission and/or have not submitted all appropriate signed documents. If approved, required agreement forms will be emailed for all signatures.

Marketing, Promotions & Special Events

Marketing Content

Our Marketing Department will provide verbiage, video and photos for usage on approved mediums. Content for websites and online purposes must be provided and approved.  Photography usage of the Kemah Boardwalk on websites, marketing pieces, collateral, social media outlets and any type of advertising must be authorized. If images are posted / used without approval, removal will be requested or legal action will be taken.
